Sometimes there comes a show that blurs the line between what is real and fiction; Louie definitely falls in this category. The Wire, which I consider to be one if not the best television series I’ve ever seen, did this masterfully. Thankfully the depressive and noire tones touched by said show are not as prevalent in Louie, although present.
Louie follows the life and times of Louis C.K., legendary NYC comic. Every episode starts off with one of his skits that somewhats relates to the episode in hand and is based on real life situations he has experienced. There’s no real arc to the story, unless you consider life and death one. To be honest, it is Curb Your Enthusiasm but based out of NY, meaning the subject matter delves into darker places. But every episode is enthralling and will entertain the shit out of you. Louis C.K.’s type of humor IS for everyone, its just some people just don’t understand that life really is a bunch of suck ass moments sprinkled with some smiles.
Anyways, Louie has been one of the most enjoyable comedies I’ve watched in a while. its smart, real and funny… if only you could be the same. Here’s what your missing. Enjoy
